On our “Local Plants and Local History” tour you will learn about the plants growing along the Avon River and the history of the waterway and its importance to Stratford. We’ll also share with you an overview of the history of the Stratford Festival as we stroll along the scenic riverside path.

Stratford Walking Tours was founded in 2024 by Lauri Leduc. Born and raised in Perth County, Lauri studied Canadian history at university and has a passion for telling stories about our past. While living abroad for 18 months in the United Kingdom and participating in many walking tours there, Lauri was inspired to start a company that highlighted the history of Stratford when she returned to Canada. The idea for Stratford Walking Tours was born!

This tour starts at the boat ramp on Riverside Drive (at the foot of Queen Street) and ends near the William Hutt Bridge.
